Ofsted, Reports and Policies
OAKMERE PRIMARY SCHOOL IS A COMMUNITY SCHOOL AND ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS ARE MANAGED BY HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL. WE BELIEVE THAT THE MOST EFFECTIVE SCHOOL IS WHERE INDIVIDUALITY AND DIFFERENCE ARE CELEBRATED AND EVERYONE IS VALUED …
Each and every member of staff is an integral and important team player. From the school’s governors to our skilled teaching assistants, everyone at Oakmere School works together to create a positive and supportive learning environment. We are very pleased that our Ofsted results reflect this positive and supportive environment – find out more by downloading from the ‘Useful Documents and Downloads’ from below.
Children are actively encouraged to push their own boundaries and take risks. Our children are encouraged to see life’s up and downs as opportunities from which to learn. At the heart of Oakmere School is the ethos that children and adults are resilient, resourceful and responsible. We advocate positive self-esteem and the disposition to believe that they can achieve.
Everyone in the school community feels a responsibility towards providing the best possible education for our children through their own development and learning.
We are committed to the principles of equal opportunity and inclusion; believing that the most effective school is where individuality and difference are celebrated and everyone is valued. Find out more about our school policies and procedures from our ‘Useful Documents and Downloads’ from below.
CHARGING AND REMISSIONS POLICY
Government legislation states that schools are unable to insist that parents pay for trips etc. that take place in school time. Our Governing Body in common with all other schools sets out a charging policy to avoid the school going into debt or parents subsidising each other. The school receives no money from the education authority to fund trips and therefore this cost has to be passed on to parents. We consider that educational visits are essential in bringing learning to life and hope that you support us over this.
The school makes no profit with a trip. If a parent has a financial problem then the school may be able to help and the Headteacher should be approached directly. However if parents refuse to pay then there is a possibility that the trip will have to be cancelled.
